The Girls in Property program is expanding around the country in 2018.

The Girls in Property program aims to raise awareness amongst high school students about the raft of career paths the property industry offers and encourage greater female participation in the property industry. It is hoped that this initiative assists more young women consider and choose to work in the property industry, helping to create a sustainable pipeline of talent for the growing industry.

The 2018 Western Australian Girls in Property program was held on Wednesday 10 October involving over 50, Year 9 girls from Shenton College.

The program was delivered across a full day with a focus on students understanding the tangible opportunities of the property industry through a hands-on experience model. The morning was hosted at Curtin University and included an interactive panel session and opportunity to work on a real-life project with industry facilitators. The afternoon involved behind the scenes tours of the State Buildings and Construction Futures Centre.

The model highlighted the variety of careers available in the industry by providing the opportunity for the girls to listen, learn and interact with industry members across a range of roles and levels.
