WHAT IS INVOLVED IN NSW GIRLS IN PROPERTY WEEK?

The Girls in Property program aims to raise awareness amongst high school students about the raft of career paths the property industry offers and encourage greater female participation in the property industry. It is hoped that this initiative assists more young women and choose to work in the property industry, helping to create a sustainable pipeline of talent for the growing industry.

The 2017 pilot involved 120 Year 10 girls from four public girls’ schools in Northern Sydney (Cheltenham Girls High School, Northern Beaches Secondary College, Mackellar Campus, Riverside Girls High School and Asquith Girls High School). Girls in Property is an initiative of the NSW Diversity Committee.

The 2018 program ran across three days - Monday 21 May, Friday 25 May and Thursday 31 May 2018. The week involved 170 Year 10 students from seven public girls’ schools in NSW (Cheltenham Girls High, Northern Beaches Secondary College Mackellar Girls, Riverside Girls High, Asquith Girls High, Burwood Girls High, Randwick Girls High and Bankstown Girls High).

NSW Girls in Property Week is an initiative endorsed by the NSW Department of Education and is supported by a range of organisations and companies from across the property industry.

"The week was exciting, fun filled and provided deep problem based learning for the girls. The feedback that we received from the girls indicated that the event was a stunning success for all participants"
